Chief Executive Officer
After many years of working with and developing programs for Individuals with diverse abilities, Shannon created Community Roots Support Services to fulfill her vision of creating a place where Individuals with diverse abilities are supported to achieve their goals, allowing them to live their best life. Shannon strives to ensure Community Roots Support Services upholds its standard of providing the best support in a forever changing environment. Along with making sure Individual’s are well cared for, Shannon creates a safe and healthy work environment for her team as they work together to support, connect, and strengthen the community.
Manager
With over seven years of work and volunteer experience in various roles within the Support Work field, Casslyn brings knowledge and passion into her role as a Program Manager at Community Roots. Her warm, easy-going personality and quick humour allows her to organically connect with staff and clients. By recognizing that a supported, connected team is key to being able to effectively support the individuals we serve, she strives to create space that is non-judgmental, sincere, and inclusive where ideas can be expressed and the expertise of all team members is honoured. In her spare time, Casslyn can be found unwinding with a good book, spending time with friends, or enjoying the beauty of the West Coast.
Home Share Coordinator
Kristina began her career supporting Individuals with disabilities at a group home in Vancouver. After moving to Victoria, she continued her work supporting Individuals in a Day Program. Later in her career she began supporting families in the local community as well as on two local First Nations communities. Today, Kristina works as an Education Assistant supporting youth with special needs as well as with Community Roots, working to ensure adults who require a Home Share are supported to find the home that will support their needs and help fulfill their dreams. In her spare time, Kristina spends time with her family and friends as well as her dogs, Annabelle and Finnegan.

Our team of highly skilled Support Workers provides Individuals with 1:1 support and group support within our Moving Forward Support Program and our New Beginnings Independent Housing Program who are referred to us from CLBC.
We support Individuals with diverse abilities to achieve independence and community participation, with service delivery that respond to an Individual’s changing circumstances. Experienced, well-trained staff and natural supports will come alongside to help the Individual to overcome challenges and to reach positive personal outcomes which improve their quality of life.
Community Roots Support Services prides itself on being an active, contributing part of the community. We work closely with community partners to provide accessibility to programs and resources that support Individuals with diverse abilities to better outcomes and an improved quality of life. By working collaboratively with interagency and interdisciplinary care teams we offer a wide variety of supports to meet each Individual’s unique needs and help them to build a path to reach their set goals.
